Mindful skilled touch is a vital tool in the fight against cancer, it is considered a form of complementary therapy and is used alongside mainstream medicine as it offers many benefits, such as pain relief, improves quality of sleep, decreases anxiety and depression, gives hope and a sense of control.
Your diagnosis, treatment and expectations will be discussed during your first appointment to decide on the best treatment for you. Modifications and considerations will be based on where you are on your journey and your current state of health and wellbeing.

“All scars are unique in their shape, density and placement and every scar represents a story. Emotions are the first consideration when working with your scar”
Scar tissue develops in the connective tissue known as fascia. Fascia is the fibrous soft tissue component of connective tissue that is literally found everywhere within the body. It is a three dimensional matrix, surrounding, containing and connecting every part of the body from head to toe and is literally the stuff that holds us up.
Fascia connects what needs to be connected and separates what should be kept apart. It responds to how we move, force, load placed upon it, emotional stress and past traumas. It is thought that trauma and emotion can be held in the body long after the event has occurred.
It is highly adaptive, surgery, injuries and dehydration can cause the fascia to become sticky preventing the slide and glide between layers, resulting in adhesions, restriction to our movement and pain.
As fascia is an interconnected system, it is plausible that strain or tension in one part of the system may cause pain, lack of mobility or another dysfunction elsewhere.
